Rush Week, Spring 2010

Club Rush was a great opportunity for us. Kesha, Kristen, Shanae, and Alison spent 2 days in January at a table stopping any cute girl they saw. We had three activities throughout the week to get to know the rushes. Wednesday night, we went ice skating at the Seven Peaks Arena with the Kappa Sigma boys and the Alpha Sisterhood. Even though a few girls took a spill or two, everyone enjoyed the night out. Later that week we went bowling with the Kappa Sigmas- and this night was even better. Everyone mingled and made new friends, and out came all of our competitive sides! Finally, we had our bid dinner with all of the new hopefuls. We had a beautiful spread of finger foods and learned about the Officers, returning sisters, and rushes. We pulled up each individual girl and asked random questions to get to know each other. Overall this was a great week, mostly because we made new friends for life!

The Beginning of Greek Life at UVU

The Kappa Sisters Sorority was founded by Kesha Kamille Phillips. She is twenty years old and a native of Utah. She decided to start a sorority because she wanted to increase her involvement with Utah Valley University. She wanted the sorority to have the history behind it that other sororities had.. Another Reason she started the Kappa Sisters was so she could form a group of friends that would strive for the same things as she does. Some of those things that we working towards are Friendship, Leadership, and Scholarship. One main benefit is the bond we have as sisters that will last for a lifetime.
